Join us in raising money for the Friends of Rothrock Trail Building Fund by participating in the Rothrock Trail Fest!

The Rothrock Trail Fest & Off Road Relay will take place on Sunday, September 22nd, starting at 9am at Tussey Mountain. You can register for the event here, until September 15th! Same day registration is not available for this event.

Long and short route options are offered for trail running, gravel biking, mountain biking, and relay teams. The address is 301 Bear Meadows Road, Boalsburg, PA 16827. Make sure to stay after the race for a Food Truck festival and live music to help you refuel. We hope to see you there!

Whether you’re just getting started in the sport and want to learn to ride with a group or you’re returning to the sport after some time away.

Rides with Nittany Mountain Bike Association

NMBA is our local mountain bike club and are a great group of people.  They lead a no drop beginner ride every Wednesday @6pm from the Galbraith Gap parking lot.  Check out their schedule here.

 

Hunting and Mountain Biking

Please respect hunters during the PA state hunting seasons.  Keep in mind that there is no hunting on Sundays.  2017-18 seasons listed below.

  • DEER, ARCHERY: Sept 30-Nov. 11 and Dec. 26-Jan. 13.

  • WILD TURKEY (Male or Female): Oct. 28 -Nov. 11 and Nov. 23-25

  • SPRING GOBBLER (Bearded Only): April 28 – May 31, 2018

  • BLACK BEAR: Nov. 18-22

  • DEER: Nov. 27-Dec. 9, Dec. 26-Jan. 13

Also: PA Gamelands (Scotia):  Closed to riding except except for Sundays starting the weekend of September 29.  Please stick to designated trails.

Any Private land owners, who allow access to their land, have asked that cyclists remain off their trails during all major hunting seasons. As always, please respect private property. These land owners have been kind enough to allow us to use their trails during the rest of the year.

Be aware of hunting seasons in PA, Southern Centre county is WMU 4D – Check the PA Game Commission website.
