An awesome mix of grinding climbs, smooth single track, and fast technical descents, the Mountain Bike Challenge will be held in the Asaph State Forest, just 8 miles west of Wellsboro. A favorite of local riders, the Asaph area has many miles of great single track and challenging climbs. A 22 mile course has been mapped out that will challenge any rider. Beginners will ride the 11 mile second loop. Tired of the endless laps of other mountain bike races? This is the race for you. Check out the cuesheet for the course.
The race begins at 10am for the Short Course (Beginner riders) and 11am for the Long Course (Sport & Expert). Event day registration begins at 8:30am. The cost of event day registration is $30.
PARTICIPANTS WHO PRE-REGISTER BY August 30th, 2015, WILL BE GUARANTEED A T-SHIRT. After August 30th online or in person registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt but may purchase one the day of the race if shirts are available.
Sport, Single Speed and Beginner classes will receive awards and prizes 3 deep. 100% payback for expert class.
For all long course (22 miles) riders: There is a 1.5 hour cut off for the 1st half of the course. There are 2 long climbs in this 1st half. A reasonable level of fitness is required to make the cut-off. Your race number will be pulled if you do not make the 1.5 hour cut-off.
